Spitfire "QV-K" Low Top Canvas Shoes
This design is based on the Spitfire “QV-K” (serial P9386) as flown by Squadron Leader Brian “Sandy” Lane. “Sandy” Lane was a fighter pilot and flying ace in the Royal Air Force who led No. 19 Squadron RAF during the Battle of Britain. During Lane's operational career, he claimed 6 (and 1 shared) enemy aircraft shot down, 2 unconfirmed destroyed, 1 probable destroyed and 1 damaged. On 13 December 1942, he was last seen giving chase to two Fw 190 fighters and was subsequently listed as "missing in action". Lane has no known grave having most likely been shot down over the North Sea. He was 25 years old.
