Hurricane "Paddy III" Low Top Canvas Shoes
This design is based on the Hurricane (Serial P2543) nicknamed “Paddy III” flown by Edgar “Cobber” Kain of the RAF 73 Squadron. Edgar “Cobber” Kain, DFC was a New Zealand fighter pilot and flying ace who flew for the RAF during the Second World War. On 7 June 1940, he took off in a Hurricane to perform a series of low-level aerobatics over Échemines airfield as a departure gesture to his squadron comrades. While performing one of these manoeuvres, he crashed at high speed and was killed instantly. At the time of his death - aged only 21 - he had been officially credited with 14 aerial victories however, his fellow pilots believed his score to be higher, ranging from 15 to 20 aircraft destroyed.
