WW2 Air Speed Indicator Cork Back Coaster
World War II aircraft relied on essential flight instruments to aid pilots in navigation and control. The Air Speed Indicator (ASI) measured the aircraft's speed relative to the air, crucial for safe flight and combat manoeuvres. The Turn and Slip Indicator showed the rate of turn and whether the aircraft was slipping or skidding in a turn, helping maintain coordinated flight. The Altimeter displayed the aircraft's altitude above sea level, using atmospheric pressure, vital for terrain clearance and formation flying. These instruments, often basic by modern standards, were the backbone of flight operations, enabling precision and safety in combat and navigation.
This design is based upon instruments commonly seen in RAF aircraft like Lancasters and Spitfires

This tumbler is printed using a digital inkjet process that transfers the design line by line. Faint horizontal lines may therefore be visible on the finished product. Colours may also appear slightly less bright than they do on screen.
