VFA-34, known as the "Blue Blasters," is a U.S. Navy strike fighter squadron that operates the F/A-18E Super Hornet. VF-34 was originally established in 1970 eventually becoming VFA-34 in 1996 when it transitioned from the A-6 Intruder to the F/A-18C Hornet. The "Blue Blasters" have a long and storied history, participating in major conflicts including the Vietnam War, and more recent operations in the Middle East.

The squadron is recognized for its distinctive insignia and its motto, “Have gun….Will travel." reflecting its aggressive and determined approach to missions. VFA-34 is based at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia and is part of the Navy's carrier air wings, providing critical air superiority and strike capabilities.
