USAAF "G-1" Crew Oxy Style Aviator's Day Bag

Sale price$60.00 USD

Tax excluded.

The Type G-1 Crew Oxygen Tank was essential for high-altitude missions in B-17 Flying Fortresses and B-24 Liberators during World War II. Used by the USAAF, it stored compressed oxygen to prevent hypoxia, as these bombers operated above 20,000 feet, where the air is too thin for breathing. The G-1 was a durable, cylindrical tank connected to the aircraft’s oxygen distribution system, supplying crew members through masks and hoses. Painted green with technical markings, it was designed for long missions lasting 6-8 hours. The G-1 tank ensured crew survival and highlights the vital role of life-support technology in wartime aviation.

Some truly unique Warbird merch that I absolutely love. I bought a Thunder Bird bag to match my T-bird shoes and tumbler :-)
