The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird was renowned for its exceptional speed and altitude capabilities, often summarized by the phrase:

"Yea, though I fly through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for I am at 80,000 feet and climbing."

This saying, a play on Psalm 23:4, was displayed on a sign at the SR-71's operating base in Kadena, Japan, during the Vietnam War.   It encapsulated the aircraft's ability to operate at altitudes and speeds that rendered it nearly invulnerable to enemy threats. The SR-71's unique design and performance allowed it to conduct reconnaissance missions with minimal risk, effectively flying beyond the reach of adversaries.
