Shadow R1 Union Jack Structured Twill Cap
Initially operated by No. 5 Squadron RAF, the Shadow later transferred to No. 14 Squadron RAF when that unit re-formed in the ISTAR role in 2011. Based at RAF Waddington, the Shadow has supported operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, the wider Middle East, and Eastern Mediterranean surveillance missions. Although originally procured as a temporary operational capability, the aircraft became part of the RAF’s core equipment programme and continues to serve while the fleet transitions toward the upgraded Shadow Mk2 standard.
