RAF Type D Roundel White Mug

$9.99 USD

The RAF introduced this post-war roundel in May 1947 under Air Ministry Order A.413/47. Commonly known as the Type D, it returned to a bright red, white and blue design, with the three sections arranged in 1:2:3 proportions. This gave it a larger red centre and broader white band than the earlier Type A roundel.

The marking became the RAF’s standard full-colour national roundel and remains in use today, although many operational aircraft now carry subdued or low-visibility versions.
