Nieuport 17 "C-5" of Billy Bishop Aviator's Day Bag
This design is based on the Nieuport 17 “C-5” serial number B.1566 flown by “Billy” Bishop during World War I. William Avery Bishop, VC, CB, DSO & Bar, MC, DFC, ED was a Canadian flying ace of the First World War. He was officially credited with 72 victories, making him the top Canadian and British Empire ace of the war. His military decorations include the Victoria Cross, Distinguished Service Order & Bar, Miltary Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross , Chevalier of the Legion of Honour (France) and the Croix de guerre (France).
