The flight data recorder (FDR) was invented in 1953 by Australian scientist David Warren. He developed it to help investigate the cause of air crashes after his involvement in the investigation of the mysterious crashes of the de Havilland Comet. The device records flight data and cockpit conversations to aid in crash investigations. Although commonly referred to as the "black box," it is painted bright orange to make it easily visible and easier to locate after an accident. The phone case features a high-detail, photo-realistic printed design depicting markings and surface details. The artwork is printed onto the case surface and is not a raised, textured, etched, or engraved finish.

Compatible with selected iPhone models. This is a third party accessory and is not endorsed by Apple.
