The F-14 played a crucial role in Cold War air superiority and in the Gulf of Sidra incidents, where it shot down Libyan MiGs. "Anytime, Baby!" became the unofficial slogan of Tomcat pilots, as a challenge to the U.S. Air Force F-15 Eagle, and also signifying their readiness to engage in combat at any moment.
