Based at RAF Brize Norton and operated by No. 99 Squadron RAF, the aircraft has also played a major role in humanitarian relief and evacuation operations around the world, including disaster response missions and the evacuation from Afghanistan in 2021. The RAF operates a fleet of C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, which remain a central part of Britain’s global air mobility capability.
