The B-17 Flying Fortress (Serial 42-107112, VE-O), named Sleepy Time Gal, was part of the 532 Bomb Squadron, 381st Bomb Group during World War II, specifically flying out of RAF Ridgewell in England under the 8th Air Force. The 381st Bomb Group was heavily involved in bombing raids over Nazi-occupied Europe, contributing to the strategic air campaign. Another B-17 (Serial 44-83624) currently on display at the Air Mobility Command Museum located at Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware and wears the markings of Sleepy Time  Gal, albeit with an Olive Drab livery.
