Did You Know?This design is based on the P-51 Mustang (WZ-I, serial number 44-72218) nicknamed “Big Beautiful Doll” flown by Col. John Landers whilst Commanding Officer of the 78th FG. Col. John Landers flew with the 9th Fighter Squadron in the Pacific and in Europe commanded the 357th Fighter Group and the 78th Fighter Group during World War II. He would finish the war with a total 14.5 enemy aircraft destroyed in aerial combat plus 1 damaged, and 20 more on the ground while strafing enemy airfields. He was awarded the Silver Star x 3, Distinguished Flying Cross x 4, Purple Heart and 22 x Air Medals . Col Landers passed away September 12, 1989 at the age of 69.
